Golf Books
Golf books. Do you read them? Golf books can range from swing recommendations to autobiographies by golfing legends to phycological golfing tips. Well worth getting a few if you are going away and want to relax next to the pool or easy reading before bedtime.
Over the past year we have read quite a few. Here are some of our favourites.
1. Golf is Not a Game of Perfect - Bob Rotella
This book really helps the mindful side of the game. We will not hit a perfect shot every time, but you know, that is ok. If you were to add up a % of good strikes vs poor strikes you would be surprised. Forget the bad shot and move on.
This book is fantastic and we recommend it. It recommends picking a target and visualisation in your practice swing. If you are to buy only one golf book, we would say this one.
2. Remarkable Golf Courses by Iain Spragg
This book is great if you like golf photography. It depicts and shows beautiful golf holes around the world. You can add the courses to your bucket list and tick them off over the years.
3. 'Life Swings' by Nick Faldo
This book gives good insights into what made a true champion of golf. Most amazingly is the way Faldo changed his golf swing in part due to the club technology revolution. The legend then went on to win more events.
4. Golf - The Cure for a Grumpy Old Man by Peter Alliss
Now this one is available as a book and also a podcast. We downloaded the podcast and had it on in the car. A fantastic listen, with the tones of the legend Peter Alliss, very comical at times and if you are a golf you can connect with the content.
5. Every Shot Must Have a Purpose by Pia Nilsson and Lynn Marriott
A good book. Get in the box and out of the box. This is along the lines of visualisation techniques and well worth a read. I have used some of these techniques on the course and it has made a good difference.
Have a great read and we hope it helps you out on the course!
